Bridger Mountains-August at the Old Main Gallery

August was the month of orange sunsets and late season thunderstorms. This is one of my favorite views of the Bridgers with the dynamic rugged beauty of Ross Peak contrasting the accented minmulist lines on Hardscrabble and Sacajawea peaks. "Bridger Mountains-August" can be seen at the Old Main Gallery in downtown Bozeman.

I am a fine artist painting the landscapes of the Northern Rocky Mountains for over 35 years and work in the medium of oil paint or chalk pastels. The light here in Bozeman, Montana and the surrounding region constantly changes with the normal dynamic weather patterns. My paintings are about this light and color of this incredible big sky country.

I have also ventured into painting portraits of the wildlife that inhabit the greater Yellowstone eco system. My inspiration for this series are the spirit animal traditions of indigenous cultures that give a very beautiful understanding of the world we live in.
